MTN Project Fame 9: Six finalists Shortlisted. Thrill audience with African classic hit songs of the 90s

The journey to fame is getting to its peak as six finalists have emerged from the final elimination night. Indeed, it was a moment of jubilation for Elizabeth, Pere, and Dapo as they were saved by the people’s vote, faculty and other contestants. While these three contestants made it to the final, Eli and Oluchi joined fellow evictees Steve and Yusuf as they partied hard at the elimination party which took place at Echo Lounge, Lagos.

Pere, Winner, Elizabeth, Kitey, Dapo and Okemute were all in their ‘A’ game as they thrilled the audience to African classics and Nigerian hit songs of the 90s. The six finalists masterfully took everyone down memory lane with renditions of oldies that triggered fond memories among the studio audience.

Pere’s beautiful rendition of Prince Nico Mbarga's ‘Sweet Mother’ brought tears to the eyes of many as he brought his mum and other mothers on stage during the performance. While his mum danced heartily and shed tears of joy, she prayedfor the judges and faculty for their roles in the Academy.

With the euphoria still high for nominations, Elizabeth performed IjoYa by Weird MC, Kitey
entertained the audience toCoolu Temper by Lagbaja and Okemute did a beautiful rendition of See Me So by the legendary 2baba. Dapo thrilled the audience to Taxi Driver by Bobby Benson, and Winner, with her characteristic electrifying dance steps, performed ‘You Bad’ by Wande Cole.

With no one up for probation, the judges wished the contestants success and offered words of encouragement while the Faculty appeared happy at the competence of the finalists.
